On the road
So this drive cross country has not been as unbearable as I had previously anticipated - mainly due to the fact that I caved and got internet for my phone. Pandora has been a LIFE SAVER! Sporadic chit chats with friends throughout the day has also been a blessing! I can't help but feel twinges of sadness at random times though. I know Cici is definitely having a tough time. Funny how life always takes you by surprise. I guess the lesson here is, plan for the unexpected. Tomorrow we pick up the second leg of our journey, so...goodnight all! I will see most of you very soon.

Changes
Some major life changes coming up in the next few days, and I must say, it's taking a toll on my nerves! Heart palpitations, clamy hands, the shakes, and shortness of breathe hits me every time I think about my big move and all the changes this move will mean. Imagine if you were traped in a snowglobe that sits on the very top shelf and all the flakes have long since settled. You go about your monotonous days bored and unhappy, pondering what ifs. Then one day, it falls off and shatters. Speaking from experience, the entire way down you are panicking! Trying everything you can to reverse the situation because you don't want your life to get smashed into tiny pieces. It wasn't a perfect life, but it was your life. I am trapped in that snowglobe, on it's way down. Soon I will no longer be trapped, but I still have to brace myself for the moment the snowglobe comes into contact with the ground. So I am BRACING... and breathing! New things to come, and FRESH BEGINNINGS!

To run or not to run?
That is the question. On the one hand,I don't like being lazy. On the other hand, being lazy feels so relaxing!
Some people consider me a tech genius!
Ok ok ok... so by "some people", I really just mean me. I'll surrender 10% of the accolades to the person whom's step by step instructions helped me reach my current state of tech nirvana. But since I had to do all the leg work- pressing all those buttons and sitting around waiting for my computer to reload, I will take the other 90% thank you very much. (I am cracking up as I am typing this by the way!) I am so excited about laptop working properly!

Wish I was wearing this.
Awww! Sweet!
This commercial is genius! It is so sweet and captures those little sweet moments of parenthood so perfectly! I have seriously watched it about 10X! I love how the Dad totally blew the Mom up by disclaiming that the train ride was "Mom's idea"!
HOUSE: Inspirations
As some of you already know, I am moving back in with my mother. Almost 10 years after she'd cut the apron strings, the fabric of life has mended itself thread by thread to reconnect us in this way. To say that I am apprehensive about it is a vast understatement! Although I am mostly a Type B, my personality is sprinkled with bits of Type A -just enough to clash with my mother's dominating Type A.
But we love each other, so we bicker, we argue, then we eat a good meal and let by gones be by gones. That's how we have always been, and I suspect probably always will be...which I am fine with because at the end of the day, I have a full belly filled with delicious food and my mother and I are in good standing.
So in my free time, instead of doing things which are productive like studying or packing, I have dedicated myself to the task of decorating my "someday in the future dream home". :) I love the clean, simple, natural elegance of a beach house (for example, half of Pottery Barn's catalog). At the same time I am drawn to bright, colorful, ornate things as well. And since I doubt there will be enough income to supply me with a house each for my varying tastes, I foresee in my future a hodge-podge of different pieces, minus the chaotic aspects. This will be an ongoing project of random musing and things that I would love to decorate my little corner of the world with. This is what I have so far...
I want a really colorful hammock outside for leisurely reading and Sunday naps.
Below is a picture of a Pier1 table I have my eyes on. I <3 this table top! I couldn't find a picture to do it justice, but take my word for it, it's divine in person!

Hang that hammock on the wisteria tree, replace this black table with my aforementioned table, plant a bunch of lovely herbs and flowers in the open lawn and call me a happy girl!!

Oh, Mr. Bourdain!
Due to recent events that have given me cause to stress the hell out, I have resolved to spending my weekend in a slothful state in an attempt to unwind. So far, my Saturday of relaxing has been on and off. As for my goal of unwinding....SUCCESS! Currently watching Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, the Caribbean episode, and let me just say, the foodie in me is drooling! He always manages to have this affect on me. Two things I just want to quickly note before I go back to living vicariously through Mr. Bourdain. 1. Red snapper is delicious! 2. I am counting down the days until I get my hands on one of those buttery, lightly crisp on the outside, flaky and moist on the inside, freshly baked croissants... and perhaps a cannoli from La Galette. Gonna be my first stop - and I am so excited!
